The Honorable Dennis Kux, former U. S. Ambassador to the Ivory Coast, is a retired State Department South Asia specialist and is currently a senior scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.

Ambassador Dennis Kux is a retired State Department specialist on South Asia and is currently a Senior Policy Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, DC. He is the author of The United States and Pakistan, 1947-2000: Disenchanted Allies, Estranged Democracies, India and the United States and India-Pakistan Negotiations: Is Past Still Prologue. He is also co-editor of India and Pakistan: The First Fifty Years and has written numerous journal articles and book chapters on South Asia. Furthermore, He was also co-director of the Asia Society and the independent Task Force on South Asia for the Council on Foreign relations. Kux has served in various diplomatic postings including Karachi, Chennai and Islamabad.
