QUOTE OF THE DAY: On Indian R&D & Mindset

The problem is not that we do not have an inventive brain, but we are rarely courageous to take up bold and costly R&D on our own. If someone ask us to do R&D on a specific area we do it. Of course we as a population rarely have confidence in ourselves nor do we appreciate people who are inventive terming them as lone mavericks. Take the people of Indian origin in US alone and see how much inventive we are. so the real difference is the environment which support invention. In India we remember of rules and regulations and hurdles when somebody is really inventive! There is no such thing as cheap invention, as an invention is the output of a creative brain, you may not have to pay dividend in sums but appreciation is the foster. so long as nobody appreciate inventions Indians in India will be always handicapped in terms of inventions. Ratheesh
